CVI Devon Weekend

  • Caddaford Barn New Barn, Caddaford TQ11 0JT (map)

This is a weekend for singers who have dipped a toe into Collaborative Vocal Improvisation - CVI - and wish to go deeper, together.

Structure:

Friday 7-9pm

Saturday 10-5pm

Sunday 10-4pm.

We will move between really honing the foundations so that you’re set on a path to become very skilled at this, to free play with the voice together.

Listening; the voice, the body; co-creation; trusting our impulses; attuning to them. Attuning to the void, dipping into it again and again, beginning to trust it.

Grounding in rhythm; interlocking parts, co-creating music with structure and groove.

Oozing with creativity and play, lying down and resting when needed; circle signing for upliftment and insta-music.

Improvising with lyrics; opening to poesis, the poetic. Self expression, check ins, mututal support.

Grounded in the values and goals articulated by The Well global vocal improvisation network, which I am a co-founder of. Vocal Improvisation teachers from around the world spent months honing these together, and they are the ground of my work. Scroll down to read / listen.

Limited to 16 places.

It’s ok if you haven’t studied with me at all but are keen.

It’s for folks who enjoy singing, can sing in tune and keep a beat, and want an adventure.
